Having completed the payment, please email both Francis Yapp (francis.yapp@canterbury.ac.nz) and NZMS Treasurer Nick Braae (Nick.Braae@wintec.ac.nz), notifying them of your registration (including specific days if chosen, and whether you are attending the conference dinner); after this you will receive a receipt acknowledging payment. Please also indicate whether you have any dietary requirements for catering purposes.

Please be reminded that all speakers are required to be members of NZMS. Information on joining NZMS can be found on our Membership page.

Student Prize

​NZMS is pleased to offer NZ$400 worth of cash prizes to the two best postgraduate student papers presented at the conference ($300 and $100). To be eligible for this prize, please submit a written version of the paper (no more than 4000 words) to francis.yapp@canterbury.ac.nz by Friday 23 November. A panel of senior NZMS members will adjudicate based on the written and oral versions of the paper.

Postgraduate Travel Grants

NZMS has NZ$600 available to assist postgraduate students travel to Christchurch. This allocation will be divided according to the number of requests made by students. To be eligible, please send receipts/information of your travel plans to NZMS Treasurer Nick Braae (Nick.Braae@wintec.ac.nz) by 9 November; reimbursements will be arranged before the conference starts.

Getting to Christchurch

The conference venue is in the heart of the central city, a short a short 15–20-minute drive from Christchurch International Airport (CHC).

Options for getting from the airport into the city include buses ($8.50 one-way or $15 return), the Super Shuttle (around $25 for a shared ride), and taxis ($45–65 one way)
