The New Zealand Musicological Society

The New Zealand Musicological Society embraces, supports, and promotes musical research, learning, and teaching both within and outside academia. NZMS membership includes notable scholars and practitioners in the fields of musicology, ethnomusicology, pedagogy, and creative practice who work in a broad range of musical disciplines. Members’ research interests encompass the study of music in its manifold forms and definitions, and in every geographical region and historical period. The society aims in particular to support research on music and musical culture in Aotearoa New Zealand and the wider Pacific region.
